Dr Kaushik has been a doctor for over 30 years and has been working in the field of Gastroenterology for 25 years with the last 20 years as a Consultant. Having graduated with honours from the University of NSW in 1986, Dr Kaushik worked in the Prince of Wales and Prince Henry teaching hospitals where he did Basic Physicians Training. He undertook advanced training in Gastroenterology from 1992 to 1994 inclusive and entered private practice in Canberra ACT after being conferred with FRACP in 1995.
He relocated to Singapore and worked in Tan Tock Seng Hospital, a teaching hospital of the National University of Singapore, between 1997 and 1999. During that time he was admitted to the Academy of Medicine Singapore as a Fellow (FAMS) in 1998.
In 1999 he was appointed as Consultant Gastroenterologist at Royal Perth Hospital where he worked until mid-2004.
West Coast Endoscopy Centre was established by Dr Kaushik in 2008, where he is the license holder and Director.
Dr Kaushik has clinical interests in luminal gastroenterology and undertakes: endoscopy, colonoscopy and capsule endoscopy. He performs approximately 3000 colonoscopies per year and has read over 650 capsule endoscopy studies since it was established in Australia. He has contributed to and continues to contribute to medical student training and the medical literature. He continues to support the public health system and undertakes public endoscopy at Osborne Park Hospital
As part of the management team at WCEC Dr Kaushik is closely involved in all quality activities, policy development, training and service delivery.
